(KNOCKOUT NATION – JANUARY 12, 2009) A proposed bout between Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton may be off as negotiations have begun to break down.

Talks have slowed because Pacquiao seeks a 60% split and Hatton’s team opposes the proposition, according to Philippine Broadcasting Station ABS-CBN.

Team Pacquiao feels in light of his domination of Oscar De La Hoya, their man is the bigger draw, Ricky Hatton’s squad says their guy brings the loyal British following.

Franklin “Geng” Gacal, Pacquiao’s lawyer, said the fight will not happen if they don’t garner 60% of the purse.

“We have informed Bob Arum that we are not signing the contract. Manny is not contented with what is laid on the table. If the figures won’t move, we will look for another [challenger],” Gacal said.
In related news, Floyd Mayweather Jr’s has contacted Pacquiao’s team, which may set of the fan’s fight.

“Mayweather’s camp is making an appeal, they’re talking to us. They’ve talked to my attorney and told him that they’re interested in the fight so we’re listening to them,” Pacquiao told ABS-CBN.

Max Kellerman is one of the most respected boxing analysts, but most of us know he has a past rooted in Hip-Hop. Check out a video treat called “Young Man Rumble” with Max and his man Sam. Max had skills!

Max & Sam came and left so fast that nobody really noticed them after they were signed to Columbia Records in 1994. But, we’ll alway like Max the commentator with a decidedly Hip-Hop swagger!
